Question

  • How can I locate my POS access code in the Toast platform?
  • I can't find my POS access code.

Answer

The POS access code, also known as a POS passcode, clock-in number, or PIN, typically consists of three to eight digits and is used for accessing the POS terminal. It may be required for:

  • Logging into your device to take an order.
  • Performing secure system updates.
  • Completing administrative actions like re-sending invitations. - Clocking in and out of shifts.
  • Verifying identity during sensitive actions or permissions changes.

For this reason, it is important to keep your POS access code confidential. If you do not remember your POS access code and need to find it, please follow the steps below.

To locate your POS access code within Toast Web:
  1. Log in to Toast Web.
  2. Navigate to Employees > Employee Management > Employees.
  3. Search for your name or the relevant employee's name.
  4. Select the hyperlinked last name of the profile you wish to view.
  5. In the Profile tab, locate the POS access code under the Account Info Section.

If you cannot locate your code through the steps above, consider the following options:
  • Administrative Assistance: If you’re an employee, your manager or system administrator may have a record of your access code, as they are often assigned during setup.
  • Welcome Documentation: The POS code might be found in onboarding or setup emails sent when your account was created.
  • Troubleshooting Codes Not Working: If your POS access code doesn’t work, try resyncing data on the Toast POS, clearing storage in the device settings, and reattempting entering the code.
