Calculate Tip Before or After Taxes

How do I change tip calculations (before or after tax)?

The default setting for tip calculation is to calculate tip before tax is added to a check. To make a change, follow these steps:
 

1. In Toast Web, navigate to Front of house > Order screen setup > UI options.
2. Scroll down to the Tipping section and select your desired configuration for the Tip/Tax setting.
   1. Calculate Tip Before Tax (default) example:
      1. $10 sandwich + 10% sales tax = $11
      2. 20% tip is calculated on $10 sandwich = $2.00
3. Calculate Tip After Tax example:
   1. $10 sandwich + 10% sales tax = $11
   2. 20% tip is calculated on $11 (sandwich + tax) = $2.20
4. Save and publish any changes.
