Question

Where can I go to manage Toast Analytics API access credentials?

Answer

Access to the Analytics API requires the Restaurant Management Pro Suite.

Note: The Restaurant Management Suite is currently not available to customers outside of the U.S. If you are outside of the U.S. and need access to the Toast Analytics API, please reach out to your Toast Representative or contact Customer Care.

Toast's Analytics API lets you pull aggregated, historical performance data (e.g., sales reports, labor costs, menu item performance) into your analytics tools or dashboards.

Further, in order to access the Toast Analytics API access credentials page, you must have the following permissions assigned to your Toast Web account at the management set level (so that it applies to all locations in your management group):

  • 4.1 Sales Reports
  • 4.2 Menu Reports (+ Inventory / Menusphere Reporting)
  • 4.3 Labor Reports
  • 8.4 Manage Integrations

To get access to the Toast Analytics API, follow the steps below:

  1. Create your own API credentials by navigating to Integrations > Manage credentials in Toast Web.
  2. Select Create Analytics API Credentials.
  3. Follow the steps on the page to create credentials for Analytics API access.
  4. Select Create credentials to finish.

To manage Toast Analytics API Access Credentials, follow the steps outlined in this technical documentation article: Creating analytics API access credentials.

Additional Information

Are separate API credentials required for each restaurant?

No, you can create one set of credentials for all restaurants in the same management group. When creating credentials, choose the type (Analytics or read-only APIs), enter a descriptive name, and specify the applicable location(s) before confirming.
