Where can I find a Form W-9 for 1099 contractor tax filings?
The Form W-9 is an official form furnished by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for employers or other entities to verify the name, address, and tax identification number of an individual receiving income. The information taken from a Form W-9 is often used to generate a Form 1099, which is required for income tax filing purposes. Toast does not disburse Form 1099s or handle Form 1099 tax filing.
Any individuals in Toast Payroll marked with a 1099-MISC pay type and a 1099 salary type will see a Form W-9. 1099 contractors can navigate to My profile > Taxes & Documents > Tax Forms to locate and fill out their Form W-9 upon getting hired.
If you're looking for a Form W-9 and you do not use Toast Payroll or if you need it for a vendor, chat with us by selecting the blue chat dot in the lower-right corner of any Toast Payroll page. Include complete details of your request. Please note that this Form W-9 is needed outside of the payroll system. Form W-9s for vendors will be blank.
