Adjust Font Sizes on Printed Kitchen Tickets and Receipts

Question

How do I change the font size on my printed kitchen tickets or customer receipts?

Answer

You must have the 6.10 Printer and Cash Drawer Setup user access permission in order to configure the setting described below. Check out these Support Center articles to learn more about assigning access permissions:

     

    1. You can configure your kitchen ticket or customer receipt font size in Toast Web by navigating to:
      1. Payments > Checks & receipt setup > Printers and cash drawers, OR
      2. Payments > Payment methods > Cash overview > View cash drawers
    2. Next, select the printer that you wish to configure.
    3. In the Printer Configuration page, scroll down to the Kitchen Ticket Font Size and/or Customer Receipt Font Size section to select your desired font size.
      1. When a printer is set up for the first time, the default Customer Receipt Font Size is Small and the default Kitchen Ticket Font Size is Large
    4. Save and publish your changes.

    Additional Information

    Your font size selections will affect all tickets printed or reprinted for the kitchen, such as expo tickets and prep station sticks. All other types of printouts are not affected by either of the font size configuration settings described above, and will print with the small font size. There is no font size configuration for these types of printouts: 

     

    • Z Report Printout

    • Time Entry Chit

    • Pay Out and Undo Pay Out Chits

    • Closed Check Receipt

    • Shift Summary Chit

    • Shift Review Report Printout

    • Deposit Slips

    • Cash Drop Slip

    • Closed Cash Drawer Report Receipt


    If you're experiencing uneven printing, consider adjusting the Paper Width setting to Narrow instead of the default Wide.
