Guest Insights Overview
The Guest Insights feature will show key trends from individual guest visits, such as new vs. repeat guests, average check size, retention rate, and more—all in one place.
To access Guest Insights, log in to Toast Web and navigate to Guests > Insights > Guest Insights.

- New: The number of guests ordered in the selected date range for the first time.
- Returning: The number of guests that ordered again in the selected date range.
- Total: The total number of guests that ordered in the selected date range.
- Lapsed: The number of guests who ordered six months before the selected date range but not during it.

Guest Insights Spend Per Guest
Spend per guest displays the Average guest spend and the New guest spend within the selected date range.
Guest Insights Retention Rate
The Guest Insights Retention Rate displays the percentage of guests who returned and placed another order within the selected date range.
Guest Insights Time to Return
The Guest Insights Time to Return metric displays the time it takes for a guest to return and place another order.
Guest Insights Order Volume and Frequency
Guest Insights Order Volume and Frequency displays the average order per guest and the average order frequency over the selected date range.

With Guest Insights, understand your most valuable guests:
- Top profiles by orders
- Top profiles by spend
Leverage this information by selecting the call-to-action links in each module to view all your frequent guests and big spenders that you can communicate to via Toast Marketing.

Get better insights on the items on your menus and what guests are ordering.
- Retention Drivers: Items frequently ordered by returning guests
- Churn contributors: Items frequently ordered by lapsed guests.
