Find or Edit an Employee's POS Access Code

• Where can I view the POS passcode for an employee?
• How can I see an employee's clock-in number?
• How do I set a PIN code for an employee for the POS?
• How can I change a manager's POS access code?

You can only view and edit an employee's POS access code if you have at the 4.9 Employee info permission and at minimum the same user permissions of that specific employee. 
 
Follow these steps to locate an employee's POS access code in Toast Web:

1. Navigate to Employees > Employee management > Employees.
2. Locate the employee from this list and select their hyperlinked last name.
3. Select the Profile tab.
4. You will find the employee POS access code in the Account info section on this page.

If you need to locate your own POS access code, it will need to be done by another user with the appropriate permissions. Currently, only users with the 4.9 Employee Info permission can edit their own POS access codes.

If you need to change this POS access code, or enable a brand new one for your employee:
 

1. Enter a new number in the POS access code field.
2. Select Enable POS access code login for this location. 
3. Select Save Changes.

At this time, you can't view an employee's POS passcode on the Toast Now app.

After changing a POS access code, if the employee gets an "invalid passcode" error message when trying to log in, a manual sync may be necessary.

1. Only do this if the device is online and you have an email and password that can use to log into the Toast POS app.
2. Clear the device's cache by swiping from the very top of the screen towards the bottom. Select the gear icon > Apps > Toast POS > Storage & cache > Clear storage and Clear cache.
3. Select the arrow in the upper-left corner and press Force stop.
4. Select the circle icon in the lower-right corner and tap the Toast POS app.
5. Once you've logged in, the new passcode should allow access.
