The signature threshold for payments determines which payments will require your guest to sign a receipt.
Setting this threshold high means transactions below it will not require a signature, speeding up your checkout process, though it may reduce fraud protection.
The maximum allowable signature threshold is $10,000.
To adjust this setting for faster payments, in Toast Web, navigate to Finance > Related > Settings > Payment options.
Your restaurant can accept credit cards faster while taking on limited amounts of risk.
While there is always added risk while processing in the background, in the majority of cases, the card's authorization will be processed before the customer actually leaves the restaurant.
This time varies based on your internet speed, with slower speeds leading to higher risks. Quick-serve restaurants may be especially interested in this speed.
On the Payment options page, for Card authorization during payment disruptions, select Continue accepting card payments without waiting for authorization (recommended).
Check the box for the Skip authorization at all times on the POS, regardless of disruptions? option.
There is a risk that cards could be declined after guests leave.
