Question

How does a Guest use Google Pay (GPay) with Toast?

Answer

When your guests use Google Pay (GPay) at checkout, they have two simple options:

  • They can enter their credit card details directly at the time of payment.
  • Or, they can select a credit card they've previously saved to their Google Pay Wallet.

Note: Google Pay presented in person (tapped at the card reader) is processed as card-present. Only Google Pay used for online or keyed orders is processed as Card Not Present (CNP). As a result, these will show up in your Toast records and the Deposit Totals Overview report as keyed transactions (e.g., V/MC/D (Keyed) or Amex (Keyed).

If your guests have more questions about Google Pay payment methods or how to add credit cards to their GPay Wallet, you can guide them to Google's official support page.
