Question

What is the Archive Test Orders feature used for?

Answer

Archive Test Orders is a feature in Toast Web that you can use to archive an order paid in cash (not credit or gift card) that was done as a test. This can be useful if you need to train a new employee on taking cash payment for an order without putting your restaurant in Test Mode (which should never be done during business hours!).

You must have the 4.12 Edit Historical Data permission to use this feature.

  1. On the Toast Web homepage, scroll down to the bottom and select Show me all links.
  2. Select Archive Test Orders under the Manager section.
  3. Filter the report to find the test order (cash orders from up to the last seven days will be visible).
  4. Select the checkbox to the left of the test order.
  5. Select Archive at the top of the report.

Note: Transactions with an "other" form of payment will also show here - this feature's intended use is for cash transactions that are for testing/training purposes while the system is "live" and out of the initial Test Mode. You can not use the search bar to access this report at this time; you must follow the steps above to access from the homepage of Toast Web.

Additional Information

Please be advised that since archived test orders are not saved, there is no way to restore these items.
