Check Your Card Reader's Firmware Version

Question

How can I tell which firmware version is used on the card reader on my Toast Tap™ or Toast Go® 2?

Answer

For legacy Toast Tap™ or Toast Go® 2:

  1. Select the circle icon on the bottom on your device screen. 
  2. Select Card Reader Support to open the app.
  3. Under the header called USB Status: Connected, make sure your card reader is showing firmware version 1.02.03.11 or 1.02.03.12. If either version is showing up for this specific device, it means the card reader is up to date and can continue taking payments as usual. 

 

For TDA300 or TOC300:

  1. Navigate to Toast POS Setup > Device Setup > Card Reader Test App.
  2. The app displays Model name | Serial # | Firmware version together in one readout. Current firmware should end in .16 or .17 (for example, "IMS_Toast MOBY_EM3 17.20.16"). If your version ends in .16 or .17, your card reader is up to date and can continue taking payments as usual.
