Your Toast account credentials (email address + password) give you access to Toast Web, as well as these other Toast platforms, depending on your permissions and the modules that your restaurant has:
If you are able to log in and you need to update your account email address or password, you can do so in Toast Web. Before updating your email address, ensure the new email is not already linked to another Toast account to avoid errors.

If you’ve forgotten your password and you no longer have access to your personal email account, an admin at your restaurant can change your email address for you by following the steps .
Note: To change your xtraCHEF email address, you'll need to reach out to our Customer Care team or your Onboarding Consultant. Unfortunately, this isn't something you can change on your own within the xtraCHEF platform.
If you have the 8. Account Admin or 4.9 Employee Info permissions in Toast Web, you can add an email address for any POS-only employee at any time to invite them to create a Toast Web account. Or, you can edit an employee's email address for their Toast account, but only when the account is in a Pending state.
You cannot update your own POS access code, but a user with the 4.9 Employee Info permission can update another user’s POS access code in Toast Web:
If you have a Toast Payroll account and you have not yet completed the , you are an “unlinked” user and it is likely that you have a separate email address + password combination to log in to Toast Payroll and Toast Web.
Note: If you see the unified login wizard when you log in to Toast Payroll, we highly recommend completing the steps to link your Toast accounts. This will simplify the login process and improve your account security. In the future, linking your account will be required. Using different email addresses for your Toast login and Payroll account may lead to syncing problems. To streamline access and account security, it is recommended to maintain a unified email address across platforms.
If you are an unlinked user and you need to update the email address for your Toast Payroll account, these are the steps you need to take:
You are the only person who can reset your Toast Payroll password. If you are an unlinked user and you need to update your password, you can go to the Toast Payroll login page (payroll.toasttab.com), enter your email address, select Continue, and then select the Forgot password? link. Check your email for the steps to reset your Toast Payroll password.
In the rare case that you only have a username instead of an email address for your Toast Payroll account, an email address should be added to facilitate the unified login experience. Contact Customer Care if you need assistance with this.
