Toast Payroll: Pay Change Did Not Sync To Toast Web

Last updated: Apr 9, 2026, 6:13 PM

Question

Why is a pay change in Toast Payroll not being reflected in Toast Web?

Answer

When an employee's pay rate is updated in Toast Payroll, this rate is immediately sent over to Toast Web as the Wage Override for the assigned job.

The most common reason a rate does not get updated in Toast Web is due to duplicate jobs. If an employee has multiples of the same job on their Toast Payroll profile (matching location and job levels), even if the rate is the same for both jobs, it will cause an error when we attempt to update the rates in Toast Web. As a result, the rates in Toast Payroll and Toast Web will not match. To correct this, navigate to the employee's Toast Payroll profile and review the Jobs & Pay tile. Select the > caret icon for a duplicate job. Then select the trashcan icon on the next page for that job. The rate will update in Toast Web right away.

Other causes of pay rate changes not syncing from Toast Payroll to Toast Web can be duplicate or unmapped profiles.
