Can I still receive DoorDash orders while I’m in Offline Mode?
During an outage, can I still receive DoorDash orders?
Answer
If Toast is temporarily unavailable and you are operating in Offline Mode, you can still receive DoorDash orders.
When you enter Offline Mode, follow these three steps to continue receiving DoorDash orders:
Call DoorDash Merchant Support and let them know you’d like to switch your order protocol to email protocol so you can keep receiving orders. If you have a DoorDash tablet, you can also ask DoorDash to switch you to the tablet protocol.
Note: This cannot be done inside Toast or in the DoorDash Merchant Portal. DoorDash must switch it for you. You must call DoorDash to initiate the switch; it is not self-servicable at this time.

Once DoorDash confirms the switch, you will start receiving orders either by email or on your DoorDash tablet depending on your preference set on your call.
When an order comes in via email or tablet, open the email or tablet, manually enter the order into your POS, and prepare the order as usual. When entering orders, make sure to:
Use the DoorDash dining option.
Close the orders out to the DoorDash payment option.

Once Toast is restored:
Navigate to your in Toast Web. You can also reach this page by selecting the checklist icon in the top menu bar of Toast Web (as seen in the image below), and selecting DoorDash integration from your setup checklist.
Select Start Over as seen in the image below to reconnect your Toast and DoorDash accounts.
Reconnecting your Toast and DoorDash accounts will switch your order protocol to POS Integration and incoming DoorDash orders will begin flowing directly through your Toast POS again.
Note: Orders that came in through the DoorDash tablet while in Offline Mode won’t automatically sync into Toast afterward. Using DoorDash dining options and other payment options as mentioned above will allow for clear reporting alongside any DoorDash orders before or after the outage.
