Important Gift Card Disclaimers

Guests who have purchased a physical Toast gift card or an eGift card can use it as payment for online purchases through Toast Online Ordering.

For this feature to work, Redeem on POS must be enabled on the Gift card setup page in Toast Web. Please contact Toast Customer Care to ensure that this feature is enabled.

Pay for Online Orders With a Toast Gift Card

1. After selecting Checkout on the Toast Online Ordering page, your guest will be prompted to enter their personal information and choose a payment method.
2. Below the payment details, there will be a Promos and Gift Cards section with a Gift Card field where the guest will enter their 16-digit code.
3. Any additional cost on the check after the gift card is applied will be covered by the payment method that the guest entered.
4. Guests can review their subtotal, taxes & fees, applied gift card value, and total payment at the bottom of the screen, and then select Place Order to complete payment. 

Imported gift card numbers cannot be redeemed as payment for online orders at this time. Gift cards from a previous service will need to be imported into Toast, then guests can use the Toast gift card number as shown on their gift card page. For more information, check out . 

If the gift card no longer has value or is invalid, an error message will appear when it's applied to the order. Additionally, if a gift card is the only form of payment on the order then there will not be an option to tip. To add a tip to an online order, your guest will need to add their credit card information.

Pay for Local by Toast With a Toast Gift Card

1. On the Checkout page in the Local by Toast app, your guest will be prompted to choose a payment method. Add a Gift Card will be an option. 
2. A new screen will appear prompting your guests to enter the gift card information. 
3. After applying the value of the gift card to the order, another form of payment can be added to cover any additional cost on the check. 

Please note that imported gift card numbers cannot be redeemed as payment for Local by Toast orders at this time. Gift cards from a previous service will need to be imported into Toast, then guests can use the Toast gift card number as shown on their gift card page. For more information, check out .
