Customize Time Clock Options

Question

How to set up the time clock settings on my Toast POS device?

Answer

  1. In Toast Web, navigate to Front of house > Order screen setup > UI options.
  2. Select Time clock on the left and adjust these settings as desired:
    1. Print clock slips: Toggle this setting On to automatically print a small time slip every time an employee clocks in or out. This setting is disabled by default. 
    2. Enforce scheduling: Toggle this setting On to require manager approval for non-scheduled employees to clock in or out. This setting is designed to work with a third-party integrated scheduling software, such as HotSchedules or 7Shifts. Set this to Off unless you have integrated scheduling software. 
    3. Show time?: Choose whether or not the time will be visible on the Time Clock screen. 
    4. Time entry rounding scheme: This setting will help reconcile hours between Toast and any payroll/labor software you use. There are two ways to round an employee's time. 
      1. Option 1: Add all time entries together at their current value (typically includes two decimal places) and round the final total to the nearest tenth. 
      2. Option 2: Round each individual time entry to the nearest tenth and then add them together for the total hours.
  3. Save and publish any changes you make.

If you're experiencing time zone issues, it may be due to a discrepancy between the time zone on your Android device and the time zone configured in the global Toast Web back-end.
