Enable or Disable the Time Clock

Premium and Business subscriptions include access to the Time Clock feature.

  • Go to Dashboard > Settings > Time Clock

Enabling the Time Clock allows access to additional features such as rounding, early clock-in, automatic clock-out, and geofencing.

Business subscriptions also include the Kiosk feature.

Track Late Employees

With the Business subscription, you can track late arrivals automatically when using the Time Clock.

To activate this option:

  • Go to Settings > Time Clock
  • Enable the late arrivals setting
  • Specify how late is considered "late"

When an employee clocks in after the defined threshold, the system automatically records the instance in the attendance report.

Allow Early Clock-In

Admins can control how early employees can clock in before their scheduled shifts.

Note: For Toast-integrated accounts, adjusting Sling Time Clock settings does not affect Toast Time Clock settings. Update those directly in Toast.

If early clock-in is disabled, employees attempting to clock in early will receive an error message.

To allow early clock-in, define a grace period in minutes. Employees can clock in once they are within that timeframe.

Allowing unscheduled clock-in may override early clock-in restrictions and can result in duplicate shifts if not configured carefully.

To enable rounding:

Geofencing restricts where employees can clock in or out based on location.

To enable:

  • Go to Dashboard > Settings > Time Clock
  • Enable mobile/web Time Clock
  • Enable geofencing

You can configure:

  • GPS radius from a location
    • For this setting to work, you must have a street address entered for your location.
    • You can define the distance in meters or feet. The minimum you can set is 100 meters or 330 feet.
  • Connection to a specific Wi-Fi network (IP address)
    • In order for this setting to work, you must set your IP address(es) in your location settings.

Note: Geofencing checks location only at the time of clock-in or clock-out and does not track employee movement.
