Toast Network Differences

Question

Why do I see two Toast networks with my restaurant name, one called _TOAST and one called _SECURE?

Answer

There are two different Toast networks:

  • The _TOAST network is an encrypted network that all Toast devices function on.
  • The _SECURE network is essentially the "gateway" network to authenticate Toast devices for the first time. Once a Toast device connects to the _SECURE network, it's confirmed by our cloud and then may automatically moved to the _TOAST network where it resides after the first-time connection.

Due to PCI compliance reasons, we cannot provide the password to the _TOAST network. If you need the password to your _SECURE network, this can be found in Toast Web by navigating to Toast account > Wi-Fi configuration.
