  • The printer must be connected to the Toast Network
  • If there is another printer on the same network with the same IP Address, please turn off that printer
    • If there is another printer with the same IP Address, changing the IP Address may not be possible and can cause issues with print routing

If all the items above are checked and are in good standing, please proceed to the section on Updating IP Address.

Update IP Address

To update the IP Address of an Epson printer in question, please go to one of hard hard-wired terminals and follow the steps below.

Note: If you're attempting to update the IP Address of a Toast printer, check out Change the Static IP Address on Your Printer.

Pro Tip: Updating an IP Address can be done on a handheld, but that handheld needs to be on the correct network to make the changes.

  1.  Locate the web Browser on the terminal
  2.  Launch the web Browser
  3. Enter the current IP Address that you got from the printer print-out
  4. In the Username field, enter Epson
  5. In the Password field, enter Epson or the serial number of the printer
  6. Navigate to TCP/IP Settings under Configuration
  7. Enter the new IP Address for the printer
  8. Ensure the settings are set to Static and not Dynamic (DHCP)
    1. These may also be listed as Automatic or Manual. In this case, you would choose Manual.
  9. Select Submit
  10. Select Reset
  11. Turn the printer off and back on again

After the above steps are completed, the printer's new IP Address will be live.

For these changes to be reflected on the POS, ensure that the correct changes are also applied on the back end of Toast. This can be done by going into the Printer Setting within Toasttab.com and placing the correct IP Address to the corresponding printer.

Pro Tip: The above steps can also be completed with a laptop or computer on the same network.

There was a problem with the built-in Web Browser on ELO V1/V2s. The built-in Web Browser, unfortunately, is not loading the EPSON Config Panel. ELO has issued a fix for this, and to get the Web Browser to function, you must perform a factory reset on the terminal and update the Firmware Version.

Approved Versions:

  • ELO V1 Firmware Version = 1.34.15
  • ELO V2 Firmware Version = 3.36.20

Note: All new ELO V2s will be shipped with firmware version 3.36.20. Do not install firmware versions greater than the approved versions.
