When I 86 an item, why doesn't it 86 itself in another menu?
If you 86ed an item in one place on your menu but find it's still available elsewhere, it's a sign of duplicate menu items. These menu items are typically the product of a deep copy, and though they may have the same item name, you can tell they are duplicates if they have different menu ID numbers in Toast Web.
We recommend removing duplicate menu items and replacing them throughout your menu with a shared menu item. This will make it so that when the item is 86ed in one area of your menu, it'll also be updated wherever else the item is used. In addition, all item sales will be consolidated into one line item in your menu reporting.
Note: If your duplicate item has different modifiers attached or a different pricing structure, consider shallow copying the item instead. To learn more, check out this Support Center article: .
