Toast Web (toasttab.com) is the web-based platform you use to manage your restaurant. This reference lists the browsers and minimum versions that Toast supports for Toast Web on desktop, mobile, and tablet devices, so you can confirm you're on a supported browser before you log in or troubleshoot a page that won't load.
Product: Toast Web at toasttab.com (not the Toast POS app, Toast Go® handheld, or Kitchen Display System).
Who this is for: Restaurant owners, managers, and employees who log in to Toast Web from a laptop, desktop, phone, or tablet.
When to use this article: Before you contact Customer Care about Toast Web not loading, a login loop, or a page that won't open, confirm your browser and version appear in the tables below. If you're already on a supported browser and the page still won't load, see Get Help With Browser Issues in Toast Web.
Note: Attempts to access Toast Web on browsers that are not listed below may result in errors or reduced functionality.
Use the table below to confirm your desktop or laptop browser meets the minimum version Toast Web requires.
| Browser | Minimum Version | Platform |
|---|---|---|
| Google Chrome | 79 | Windows |
| Google Chrome | 79 | macOS |
| Safari | 11 | macOS |
If your browser isn't listed, switch to Google Chrome on Windows or macOS. Chrome is the most-tested browser for Toast Web and the one Customer Care will ask you to try first. You can download Google Chrome from https://www.google.com/chrome/ (external link).
Use the table below to confirm your phone or tablet browser meets the minimum version Toast Web requires.
| Browser | Minimum Version | Platform |
|---|---|---|
| Safari | 12.1 | iOS (iPhone, iPad) |
| Google Chrome | 80 | Android phone |
| Samsung Internet | 11 | Android phone |
| Android Browser | Chromium 30 | Android tablet |
If one of these browsers is not the default on your phone or tablet, download a supported browser from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
Note: Mobile login to Toast Web works on supported browsers, but it is harder to troubleshoot than desktop. If you have access to a laptop or desktop in Google Chrome, switch to it before contacting Customer Care.
After you confirm you're on a supported browser and version, the next steps for a page that won't load, an image that won't appear, a login that keeps looping back to the login screen, or a "too many redirects" error are covered in Get Help With Browser Issues in Toast Web. That article walks through clearing cache and cookies, testing in Incognito or private mode, switching browsers, and what to gather before you contact Customer Care.
For login-specific errors — wrong username or password, locked accounts, MFA, reCAPTCHA, expired links — see Log in to Toast: Troubleshoot Login.
Microsoft Edge and Firefox are not currently included in the supported browser tables for Toast Web. Customer Care recommends Google Chrome on Windows or macOS as the most-tested browser. If you've successfully used Toast Web in Edge or Firefox, continue at your own discretion, but switch to Chrome before troubleshooting a page that won't load.

The browser you should use on your phone for Toast Web depends on your device. On an iPhone or iPad, use Safari 12.1 or later. On an Android phone, use Google Chrome 80+ or Samsung Internet 11+. On an Android tablet, the built-in Android Browser (Chromium 30+) is supported. For tasks beyond quick lookups, switching to a desktop in Google Chrome is the easier path.

Toast Web working in an Incognito (Chrome) or private (Safari, Firefox, Edge) window but not in your normal browser usually means cached data or a stored cookie is interfering. Clear cache and cookies in your normal browser, then close every Toast tab and reopen Toast Web. For full troubleshooting steps, see Get Help With Browser Issues in Toast Web.

A "too many redirects" or "this connection is not secure" error on iPhone Safari is typically caused by stored cookies or a stale session. Clear Safari's history and website data on your iPhone, close Safari fully, then try Toast Web again. If the error persists, see Get Help With Browser Issues in Toast Web.

Toast Web does not always display a clear "unsupported browser" warning. The most common signs you're on an unsupported browser or an outdated version are pages that load partially, buttons that don't respond, login pages that keep reloading, or images that don't appear. If any of these happen, confirm your browser and version against the tables above before you continue troubleshooting.
