Answers to common questions about the Toast and DIGI scale integration, including who to contact and why an item is missing.
| The Toast and DIGI scale integration is currently in limited release with select customers. Check back soon for updates! |
Who you contact depends on whether your question is about your items in Toast or about the scale itself.
Note: If you are still working with an Onboarding Consultant, they are your first contact for anything to do with your items.
Also asked as:
A new item is usually missing from the DIGI scale because the scale has not refreshed yet, or because one of the item's required DIGI values is missing or incorrect. Start by confirming you saved and published the item, then allow time for the next refresh — see How long does it take for a change to reach my scale? below.
If the item still has not appeared, check the following four values on the item in Toast:
Correct anything that is wrong, then save and publish your changes. If all four values are correct and the item still does not appear, contact Toast Customer Care.
Also asked as:
A change you save and publish in Toast reaches your DIGI scale at its next refresh, typically within 20 to 30 minutes. The refresh runs automatically, so no action is needed on the scale. If a change has not appeared well after that, check the item's DIGI values and then contact Toast Customer Care.
Also asked as:
A price difference between your scale and Toast usually means the price change has not reached the scale yet, or the item's DIGI values are incorrect. Confirm the price in your item library, then confirm the item's PLU, deli_mode, deptno, and group values and save and publish your changes.
If the price in Toast is correct and the scale still shows the old price, contact Toast Customer Care.
No, your DIGI scale cannot be connected to your Toast network in any way. Do not connect it to your Toast Pronto router, and do not connect it to Toast Wi-Fi through a Pronto access point. The scale needs its own internet connection, either hardwired or over Wi-Fi if you purchased the DIGI wireless adapter.
Your DIGI scale can be installed before your Toast installation. The DIGI installation is independent of your Toast installation and can happen before, during, or after it. Toast recommends having at least one terminal powered on with a scanner connected when DIGI finishes, so you can test scanning right away.
You can add or edit items at any time. Each item's DIGI values must stay correct, or the item does not appear on the scale and your change does not reach it. See Add and Edit Items for Your DIGI Scale.
A new category group or category needs a new DIGI number before items in it appear on the scale. DIGI creates the new department or group on their side. Choose the number you want to use, following the numbering your Onboarding Consultant gave you, and email it with the name it maps to, to the DIGI team at DAISupportTechnology@us.digi-group.com.
A check digit error means your barcode configuration in Toast does not match the barcode format your DIGI scale prints. See Troubleshoot Barcode Check Digit Error for the settings to change.

Every DIGI scale item needs both a barcode and a price lookup (PLU) number, and each value must be unique. The barcode must be five digits, including any leading zeros. The two values do not have to match each other, but keeping them consistent makes them easier to manage.
