Once you have completed the Toast Merchant Agreement, you will need to create your Toast Web account. This account is the back end of your Toast POS containing your reporting, employees, menu, and configuration settings. You are responsible for setting a username and password. 
 
To create your Toast Web account and login:

 

  1. Complete the Toast Merchant Agreement in Docusign. Use the email address you would like to use for your Toast Web login as both the Owner and Implementation contacts. 
  2. Select Finish.
  3. Select Continue.
  4. You will automatically be redirected to Toast Web to create your Toast Web account. It may take a few minutes to verify your information and create your restaurant. Do not navigate away from the page seen in the image below.
    • Note: If you opted to pay your deposit with a credit/debit card, you will need to enter your payment information to pay your deposit before you create your Toast Web login.

  1. On the Activate your Toast account page, create your desired password and POS access code. The password will be used to log in to the Toast Web, and the POS access code will be the number you use to access the POS.
  2. Select the blue Activate button. You should receive a green banner. Select the Activate button again.
  3. You will automatically be redirected to the Toast Web login page. Log in with your email address and the password you just created.
  4. You will be prompted to set up biometric authentication (fingerprint or face recognition) to allow you to log in faster. Select Continue to set this up, or Remind me later if you do not want to set this up at this time.
  5. It is important to verify your phone number on the next screen as an added layer of security for your account. Add your mobile phone number and select Verify.
  6. You will next be prompted to connect your business bank account with Plaid, or enter the details manually. Toast recommends connecting your account via Plaid if you are able to sign in to your bank account; it is the fastest option to attach your bank account.
    • Note: It is imperative that you connect your bank account to ensure you receive your deposits on day one. If you opted to pay your deposit via ACH, this is the account that will be used.
  7. Follow the steps required to connect your bank account via Plaid. When your account has been successfully authorized, you will receive the following message: Success. Your account has been successfully linked to [business name].
    • Note: To connect to Plaid, you must be able to login to your bank account. If you are not able to sign in to your bank account and have your bank account number and routing number handy, you can complete the manual verification process instead.
  8. Once the connection to Plaid is complete, you will see a green Verified status next to your bank account.
    • If you are manually adding your account information instead of using Plaid, Toast will need to verify your account. If Toast is unable to verify your account, you can opt to submit it for manual review. To manually review, you’ll need to upload a voided check or other bank document. You will see a yellow In Review status next to the bank information you entered. You may receive a follow-up ACH form via Docusign if we can not verify your account manually or via Plaid.

Congratulations! Your account setup is complete after banking is verified. If you are ready to start using Toast in less than 60 days, you will be able to book your kick off call with your dedicated Onboarding Consultant shortly.
