Learn about account ownership and how to transfer account ownership for Sling accounts.
Business needs often change, and a company may assign new leadership to assume administrative responsibilities. When a Sling account is created, the creator is automatically designated as an admin and becomes the account owner.
Account ownership identifies which admin has permission to delete the company’s Sling account. Only the account owner has the authority to delete the account. Otherwise, there is no significant difference between other admins assigned to the account.
To transfer account ownership to another individual, that person must be listed as an active admin on the account. You will need to contact Sling Support for assistance with transferring account ownership.
If the individual who needs to be listed as the owner is not already an admin on the account, Sling Support requires proof of the person’s role within your company.
Acceptable forms of proof include:
Once a Support representative verifies the individual’s role, they will update the system role and assign account ownership on the backend. This process helps protect account integrity and ensures the appropriate level of access.
Account ownership is not visible to customers. Consider creating a position titled Account Owner and assigning it to the appropriate individual if you want to be able to track who is listed as the account owner.
If you need assistance, Sling Support is available to help with any questions.
