Use Total Item Quantity Count

You can view the total count of menu items in an order at the bottom of your Quick Order screen. This feature allows you to save time in your counter service restaurant (no more manual counting of items!) and ensure the accuracy of your guest's orders.

This feature is designed for restaurants where it's common to order multiples of a specific item, such as a bagel shop, coffee shop, or bakeries.

Turn On Total Item Quantity on Your POS

To enable total item quantity on your POS, follow these steps:

1. In , navigate to the Front of house page.
2. Under the Order screen setup header, locate the Show total quantity of items in an order setting and switch the toggle to On.
3. Save and publish your changes.

View Total Item Quantity on Your Quick Order screen

Once you've enabled total item quantity, here's how you can view it on your POS: 

1. Navigate to the Quick Order screen on your Toast POS. 
2. At the bottom of the check details, there will be a bar displaying the total count of items (ITEMS TOTAL) in the order. In this example (0) items have been added to the order.

3. As you add items to the order the count increases. In this example (3) items have been added to the order.
