Crunchtime Kitchen Integration Overview

Crunchtime Kitchen provides a read-only back-of-house solution to improve kitchen workflow and communication, allowing Toast customers to have kitchens better keep pace during peak hours, with lower ticket times and faster table turns. Leveraging Toast’s menus, orders, labor, and kitchen data, Crunchtime Kitchen’s hardware-enabled integration also supports Bin Management, a forecasting and projection tool to increase the speed of service.

Toast customers can now easily integrate Crunchtime Kitchen on Toast Web.

Note: Your restaurant must have access to Toast Partner Integrations to gain access to the Crunchtime Kitchen integration. To learn more, see Set Up Toast Partner Integrations.

Crunchtime Kitchen Installation and Connection Requirements

Hardware and Installation
Crunchtime Kitchen runs on 3rd-party KDS hardware, and cannot be installed or used on Toast’s KDS. Customers using Crunchtime Kitchen are responsible for installing their own 3rd party hardware.

Toast must be installed and configured before Crunchtime Kitchen setup and installation.

Network Connection
Crunchtime Kitchen hardware and software must be connected to the internet, and cannot run on or be directly connected to a Toast-managed network (TMN).  To enhance the safety and security of a customer’s Toast-Managed Network, customers can no longer use their Toast router or Toast switch (Meraki) to supply internet access to Non-Toast issued ethernet devices. These unauthorized devices must be disconnected from the Toast network to further protect guest payments and company data.

You must connect their third-party Crunchtime Kitchen hardware to the internet via one of the following options:

  • Self-Managed Network: Customers running on a self-managed network can connect Crunchtime Kitchen hardware directly to their SMN.
  • Parallel Network Connection: If using a Toast-Managed Network the hardware must be run and connected to another network in parallel to the Meraki.

Crunchtime Kitchen Toast Web Configuration

You will need to have dining options, prep stations set up, and item prep times set up in Toast Web when using Crunchtime Kitchen integration.  Crunchtime Kitchen’s team will work directly with you to guide you on the necessary configuration to ensure settings work to spec within Crunchtime Kitchen and Toast.

To learn more about Prep Stations and Item Prep Time please follow the articles below:
