Auto Clock-Out

Sling and Toast both have a default auto clock out.

Toast will automatically clock out shifts at 4am local time, so typically Toast's 4am clock out will apply when using both systems.

For Sling clock ins, auto clock-out 24 hours after the end of the scheduled shift is enabled by default. You can customize the timing of the auto clock out by navigating to Settings > Time Clock and editing Automatic clock out setting.

When Toast and Sling are integrated, Toast allows you to set a business day cutoff, which will automatically clock employees out based on that setting. Meanwhile, Sling’s time clock settings use the scheduled shift end time for automatic clock-outs. For example, if a shift ends at 9:15 PM and Sling is set to auto clock out 15 minutes after the scheduled end, the system will automatically clock the employee out at 9:30 PM—even if they clocked in using the Toast terminal.

Allow Early Clock OutToast: Navigate to Employees > Employee management > Schedule enforcement and set the Minutes before clock out to a desired amount.
Sling: This is allowed by default.
Classify Shifts as Scheduled and UnscheduledTo create scheduled shifts, set up schedules in Sling and they will integrate into Toast Web.
