Upload a CSV, PDF, text file, or image to a Toast IQ chat in Toast Web so Toast IQ can summarize it and answer your questions about it.
Applies to: Toast IQ, Toast Web
Permissions needed:
What you'll accomplish: You'll add a file to a Toast IQ chat so Toast IQ can use what's in the file to answer your questions.
Toast IQ can read information from files you keep outside of Toast, like budgets, vendor price lists, invoices, staffing plans, and standard operating procedures. You can upload these file types:
Each file can be up to 10 MB, and you can attach more than one file to the same message. If your file is larger than 10 MB, split it into smaller files or remove pages you don't need, then upload it again.
If your spreadsheet is in another format, like Excel, save it as a CSV file before you upload it.
Note: You can upload files to Toast IQ in Toast Web. File upload isn't available in the Toast Now app.
Follow these steps to add a file to a Toast IQ chat in Toast Web.
Expected outcome: Your file appears in your message, and Toast IQ uses what's in the file to answer your question.
After you upload a file, ask Toast IQ about it the same way you'd ask a coworker. For example:
Toast IQ uses your file in the chat where you uploaded it. To ask about the same file in a new chat, upload the file again.
For the best answers, upload files with clear column headers and readable text. Toast IQ may not read every detail in a scanned document, a blurry photo, or a PDF with complex tables.
Note: AI tools can make mistakes. Check important answers against your original file. You can report an incorrect answer by providing feedback on the response in Toast IQ.
To remove a file from your message before you send it, select the X on the file in the message box. You can then upload a different file or send your message without one.
