Incept AI Integration Features

Incept AI is a cloud-based service designed to take restaurant guest orders over the phone and in noisy drive-thrus. What sets it apart is its proprietary technology that cleans up bad audio so it can be more accurately processed by speech and language models. This unique capability enables the system to take orders without human intervention, which in turn helps deliver a faster, more reliable, and consistently accurate guest experience. Furthermore, the technology is able to handle infinite order customization with even the most complex menu structures, providing guests with a highly flexible, natural ordering interaction. The system efficiently interfaces with in-restaurant phone systems, call centers, and drive-thru base stations, using advanced technology to minimize latency while reducing costs and maintaining high accuracy.

 

Incept AI is integrated with Toast POS as follows:

 

  • For phone orders, Incept AI will answer the phone, take the guest’s order using an intelligent voice agent, and push the order to the KDS/POS at the restaurant. Currently supporting pickup orders; payment over the phone is forthcoming.
    • Incept AI also has the ability to text a link to callers so they can complete their order using Toast Online Ordering! Incept AI will present the caller with the option to proceed with voice or order online. Best of all, this capability is included free with the base package!
  • For drive-thru orders, the Incept AI voice agent greets the guest immediately as their car pulls up to the speaker post, takes the guest’s order, displays the order as it is being spoken on an order confirmation screen, and submits the order to the KDS/POS when complete
    • The Incept AI system supports Toast’s Delphi order confirmation screens in addition to the Toast POS.

Enable Incept AI Integration With Toast

To enable the Incept AI integration with Toast, follow these steps:

 

  1. To enable Incept AI with Toast, log into Toast Web and navigate to Integrations > Integrations management > Browse & purchase integrations.
  2. Enter Incept AI in the search field and select Add Now.
    1. If you have multiple locations, please select the restaurants you would like to connect to Incept AI. Finally, select Apply.
    2. Note: Your restaurant must have access to Toast Partner Integrations to add this integration. To learn more, see Set Up Toast Partner Integrations.
  3. Review the data scope visibility terms and conditions, and select Confirm to accept. See the Data Scope Visibility article for more information.

Configure Incept AI in Toast Web

  1. Once you select Add Now on the Incept AI tile on the Integrations page, you will select which restaurant(s) you would like to connect to your Incept AI account, and select Apply.
  2. After you select Apply, you will be forwarded to a confirmation screen.
  3. After adding the integration in Toast Web, the Incept AI team will reach out to you directly to start your account setup and onboarding if you have yet to create your Incept AI account.
