Answer

You can access and manage your shift review directly on the Toast POS app. This process allows you to review your sales, manage cash, and even revisit previous shifts if needed.

 

To access your shift review:

  1. Log in to a Toast POS device.
  2. Under My Account, select Shift Review to open the Shift Review screen.
    • For Managers: You can access and review your employees’ shift reviews by navigating to Manager Activities > Review Employee Shifts.

 

The Shift Review screen displays your shift review report and the required workflow steps. In this screen, you will find:

  • Employee Name & Shift Time: Displays the start and end times for the current or selected shift.
  • Shift Review Report: A summary of your sales and activity based on your restaurant's configurations in Toast Web.
  • Shift Review Steps: The specific actions you must complete to close your shift.
  • Overflow Menu (⋮) icon: Provides additional tools to manage your data:
    • Refresh: Manually resyncs order data to ensure your sales report is up to date.
    • Full sales report: Opens a detailed breakdown of your sales.
    • Print shift review: Prints your report (available only after the shift is closed).

 

If you need to view or make changes to a past shift, you can do so through the Other shifts option:

  1. From the Shift Review screen, select the Overflow Menu (⋮) icon and choose Other shifts.
  2. In the Choose shift dialog box, select the shift you wish to view and select Okay.
  3. While viewing a previous shift, you can:
    • View closed checks.
    • Edit cash collected and non-cash tips. Note: This will reopen the shift for editing.
    • Print the shift review report or perform a clock-out.

Additional Information

  • View your full sales report
    • You can view your full sales report from the Shift Review screen. To view your sales report, select the Full sales report button in the overflow menu.
  • Refresh your shift review report
    • You can manually refresh your shift review report from the Shift Review screen. To refresh your shift review, select the Refresh button in the overflow menu.
  • Resync shift review data
    • If your shift review data fails to load, an error message displays: Failed to load shift review. Try re-syncing data to load the shift review.
    • To resync your data, select the Resync data button. For information on how to resync the data on your device, see Resyncing all data on your devices.
  • Switch users
    • You can switch users from the Shift Review screen. To switch users, select the Switch user button to return to the passcode screen.
