Enable Server Order Firing

• How can servers control meal pacing with server item firing?
• Can servers control when items on a ticket are sent to the kitchen?
• Is it possible to allow servers to individually hold items on a ticket before sending them to the kitchen?

Server item firing gives servers full control over meal pacing on the POS. Follow the steps below to enable this feature:

1. In Toast Web, navigate to Front of house > Order screen setup.
2. Locate the Individually Hold and Send Items setting, and toggle it to the On position.
3. If your restaurant primarily uses Quick Order mode, make sure to enable the Hold, Stay, and Send buttons on the Front of house page under the Quick order header. Note that these buttons will already be automatically enabled in Table Service mode.
