Default dining options can apply to either your entire restaurant or to a specific device. To assign a default dining option to a specific device that differs from your restaurant's default, follow the steps below.
Note: At this time, default dining options can only apply across your entire restaurant or to a specific device. You cannot set different default dining options for Quick Order or Table Service mode. If you need different dining options for Quick Order or Table Service modes, you must manually change the dining mode on the order.
Dining options will be accessible through the order screen in Table Service or Quick Order modes. If you're using a default dining option, all newly created orders will be automatically assigned to your default choice.
Select the Dine In button to change dining options. Note that you are able to change the dining option on both the check and individual items. Assigning a dining option of Take Out, or Delivery may prompt for customer information or display an existing customer account. By selecting Dine In, a prompt will appear so the server can manually assign the order to any dining option available.
Summary and Sales Breakdown reports in Toast Web can help you track net sales and the number of orders for all dining options. Note that any order from Toast POS that is not automatically assigned to your default dining option or manually assigned to an alternative option will appear on the report under None.
