Reopen a Shift Process

1. Review the reasons to reopen a shift
   1. Reopen previously closed shifts within the current work week, recalculate their data, and then re-close.
   2. Reopen a shift if:
      1. Tips were paid out of the wrong drawer.
      2. Cash was collected using the wrong drawer.
      3. A customer added a tip to a check after the employee had clocked out and closed their shift.
      4. Tips were missing from a check within the shift when it was originally closed.
   3. If the employee simply forgot to declare their cash tips, this can be fixed without reopening a shift by adding the amount to the new Time Entry Management page. For more information, go to Edit Employee Time Clock Entries.
   4. By reopening the shift, the Tip Out and Cash Collected entries from before are deleted, and you are free to redo them.
      
      
2. Reopen the shift from a POS device
   1. On the device menu under Manager, select Shift Review.
   2. Select the employee's name that needs adjusting.
   3. Select the Edit button beside the field that needs to be edited.
   4. Select Yes to confirm that you want to reopen the shift and undo these previous entries. The shift is reopened.
   5. If you are reopening a shift from the Collect Cash & Tip Out window:
      1. Select Re-open Shift.
      2. When the confirmation window appears, select Reopen Shift. The shift is reopened.
         
         
3. Re-close the shift after making adjustments
   1. Make the needed adjustments to the reopened shift.
   2. Recalculate the shift data.
   3. Re-close the shift.
