Forget Non-Toast Networks on a Toast Device

If you use a Toast device on a Wi-Fi network, your device may attempt to connect to other Wi-Fi networks the device was connected to in the past. These networks, which were not created by Toast, can cause your device to attempt to reconnect to them if your device is further away from your Toast wireless access point. For example, if you're serving guests inside with a handheld Toast Go® device and leave to attend to an outdoor dining space, your device may attempt to connect to a stronger signal from a building next door in order to remain online.

To ensure payments are not paused on your device, we recommend "forgetting" any non-Toast networks your devices have connected to in the past in order to ensure your device remains connected to Toast's enhanced security network. Without taking action, your devices may run the risk of interrupting during service. The correct Wi-Fi network for your Toast devices will end in "_Toast". These steps will show you how to ensure you are able to join this Wi-Fi network. 

We also recommend following these steps to forget non-Toast networks if your device is trying to connect to your "_Toast" Wi-Fi network but is failing to access it.

Toast Flex  

1. From the device's home screen, select the Settings cog icon.
2. Next, select Network & internet. 
3. Select Wi-Fi.
4. Select the non-Toast network the device is connected to and select Forget.
5. Forget all other Wi-Fi networks that do not end in "_Secured". If you need to find your Toast _Secure Wi-Fi password, follow the directions in this Support Center article, Locate Your Toast Wi-Fi Password.
6. Then, select Wi-Fi preferences and check that Open network notification is set to Off. This will ensure your staff is not prompted to change the network the device is connected to during service.

Toast Go® 2

Watch this 30-second video or follow the steps below.
 

1. From the device's home screen, select the Settings cog icon. 
2. Next, select Network & internet.
3. Select Wi-Fi. 
4. Select the non-Toast network the device is connected to and select Forget. 
5. Forget all other Wi-Fi networks that do not end in "_Secured". If you need to find your Toast _Secure Wi-Fi password, follow the directions in this Support Center article, Locate Your Toast Wi-Fi Password.
6. Then, select Wi-Fi preferences and check that Open network notification is set to Off. This will ensure your staff is not prompted to change the network the device is connected to during service.

Toast Go® 3

On the handheld, navigate to Settings & Tools > Device Settings > System > Reset Options> Reset Mobile Network Settings > Reset Settings and then Reset Settings again.

Elo V1

1. Select the Settings cog icon from the home screen of your device.
2. Under Wireless & Networks, select Wi-Fi.
3. Select and hold the name of the network you wish your device to forget.
4. When prompted, select Forget Network.
5. Forget all other Wi-Fi networks that do not end in "_Secured".

1. Select the Settings cog icon from the home screen of your device.
2. Select Network & internet.
3. Select Wi-Fi.
4. Select the non-Toast network the device is connected to and select Forget.
5. Forget all other Wi-Fi networks that do not end in "_Secured".

Reconnect to the Toast Enhanced-Security Network

If your device disconnects from the network ending in _Toast, and will not reconnect to it, we recommend the preforming following steps:

1. Navigate to the Android home screen on your device and select the Settings cog icon. 
2. Using the steps outlined for your device in the previous section, navigate to your Wi-Fi settings. 
3. Select the "_Secure" network to connect your device. Note: This may appear as "[RESTAURANT-NAME]_SECURE" or "TOAST_SECURE".
4. Then select and hold the "_Toast" enhanced security network. (This may appear as "[RESTAURANT-NAME]_TOAST")
5. When prompted, select Forget Network.
6. When finished, navigate back to the Toast POS application and enter your passcode on the passcode screen. This action will prompt the device to reconnect to Toast's enhanced security network on its own.
