How do I troubleshoot the error message "Looks like something has changed, the Payroll Status is Invalid for this type of Action. Please refresh the page and try again."?

Answer

Some customers may receive this error when their payroll is not posted in time. This can also happen because the status of a payroll has changed after the user originally loaded the page; for example, the user gets to the Employeee earnings step of payroll, while they are there another user (or Care agent) calculates the payroll, if the first user attempts to edit the payroll the system will recognize that the payroll has changed status and will prevent edits. 

 

Refreshing the page and attempting to submit payroll again may not resolve this error code. An HR+ user needs to contact Toast Payroll Customer Care and reference this error message in order to adjust the check date or pay cycle of the payroll calendar. This will allow you to successfully post/submit this payroll.
