Toast Go® 2 Handheld Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to get started, or download the printed version of this guide here.

1. Ensure the device is fully charged before use. 
2. Press and hold the power button briefly to turn the device on. 
3. Connect the Toast Go® 2 to the "YOUR_RESTAURANT_NAME_Secured" Wi-Fi network; upon passcoding into the app, the device will automatically migrate to the "YOUR_RESTAURANT_NAME_Toast" network. Note: if you need your Wi-Fi network password, in Toast Web, navigate to Toast Account > Wi-Fi Configuration.
4. Log in to Toast using the email and password that are associated with your Toast account. 
5. Enable EMV to accept dip and tap (contactless) payments:
6. On the lower left corner of the passcode screen, select the credit card icon. 
7. Enter your PIN to log in. 
8. From the main menu, go to Setup and select Device Setup. 
9. Scroll down and select EMV Enabled. 
10. Select Yes. You may be prompted to update the card reader in the process. 

Accept Payments on Your Toast Go® 2 Handheld

 

The Toast Go® 2 device is unavailable to customers outside the US.

 

Your Toast Go® 2 accepts Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay! It also takes swipe, dip, and tap credit cards. Note: Tap is also known as contactless payment. 

 

• Chip or tap-enabled cards: To dip, insert the card chip-first into the EMV card slot at the top of your device (B). To tap, horizontally align and tap the card on the contactless card reader (C). 
• NFC-enabled devices: Tap the device on the contactless card reader (C) to pay using Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, or Google Pay.   
• Magnetic stripe cards: Swipe cards that have a magnetic stripe in the magnetic stripe card slot (A). 
• Gift cards: Select Select Pay > Gift card  and either Enter Gift Card Number  or select Scan in your payment workflow will activate the camera on the handheld device to read the QR code on the gift card (if applicable). 

To start accepting payments on your handheld device, follow these steps:

1. From the payment screen, select Card.
2. Then, this will bring you to the Itemized Receipt Preview screen, where you can have your guests review and confirm their order by selecting the Confirm & Pay button.
3. Next, your guests will be prompted to complete their payment. Guests can choose to tap, insert, and/or swipe their card to complete the payment.

• • Alternatively, they can choose to manually key in their credit card information by selecting the Key in card number button.
  • If they wish to make changes or cancel their order, they can select Cancel payment.
