Answer

The Toast Delivery Services® (TDS) delivery radius is automatically set by your delivery provider. This delivery radius may differ from the delivery radius shown on the Uber Eats or DoorDash apps.

 

If your restaurant is located in New York City, the delivery radius may be smaller than your delivery provider’s default due to mileage limits designed to optimize the experience for both customers and delivery drivers. We recommend contacting your selected delivery provider that powers TDS directly to confirm your specific radius. 

 

Uber Direct:

  • Outside of NYC, the default delivery radius is 10 miles as a straight line (not driving distance). This radius excludes major bridges, airports, and state lines.

 

DoorDash Drive:

  • Outside of NYC, the default delivery radius is 10 miles as a straight line (not driving distance). This radius excludes major bridges, airports, and state lines. 

 

If a guest encounters an Out of Delivery Range error when attempting to place an order on your Toast Online Ordering page, consider the following:

  • The delivery radius is calculated as a straight line, or "as the crow flies," and not based on driving distance. If the requested delivery distance exceeds your delivery provider's stated radius, an error will occur when attempting to place the order. 
  • If the delivery address falls within your provider’s stated radius and an error still occurs, there may be an issue with your TDS configuration. Please contact Customer Care for assistance.

 

Note:

  • The maximum delivery radius for orders fulfilled by third-party delivery partners (e.g., Uber Direct, DoorDash) is 10 miles. This limit is set by our partners and cannot be extended at this time.
  • To request updates to the delivery radius for your restaurant management group, you must contact Toast Customer Care.
