It's important to ensure that the physical gift cards you plan on using will work with our hardware by following the guidance below. 
 

Toast Gift Cards

Wondering which types of physical gift cards can be swiped on your POS? If you're using Toast Gift Cards, our officially supported physical gift card provider is eCard Systems.

Toast-Integrated Third-Party Gift Card Providers

If you are using one of Toast's integrated gift card providers, their native physical cards should work with Toast assuming they have met our certification criteria.

Unsupported Physical Gift Card Providers

Here is a list of known providers that cannot be swiped with Toast:
 

• CMS (CMS Bankcard brand, not Card Marketing Services)
• OptiCard
• CAKE
• Gyft
• GETI
• Clover

If you have other physical gift cards, you can always key in gift card numbers, but there is no guarantee that they will be able to be swiped with our system. You may follow some guidance in our  or request additional support to see if your gift cards can be supported by starting a live chat with our Customer Support team.
