Can customers specify delivery driver instructions on Local by Toast orders?
Yes! When selecting Delivery on the Local by Toast app, all restaurants that offer delivery will appear. By selecting Delivery for ASAP at the top of the restaurant's page, you can update the address, add a suite number, schedule an order, or request contactless delivery. If Request Contactless Delivery is selected, add Delivery Instructions on the page as well.
For example, write "Ring the doorbell when you arrive and leave the food on the porch." The driver will get the instructions when the order is placed. Both Online Ordering and Local by Toast will offer these options.
On the Local by Toast app, Request Contactless Delivery will appear as a checkbox option if you already have delivery instructions written in the field. Checking this will add "PLEASE MAKE THIS CONTACTLESS DELIVERY: to the end of your delivery instructions.
Toast does not hire delivery drivers directly. However, with Toast Delivery Services®, you can offer direct delivery on your online ordering channels by using Toast's on-demand delivery drivers powered by Uber Direct and DoorDash Drive.
