How do I restore archived items to Toast Retail?

Question

I archived some category groups that were used in Toast Retail, and after I restored them they aren't showing up in my item library. How do I fix this?

When items are archived and then restored, they are not returned to a category group (or menu). Because of this, you will need to add those restored items back into one of the categories you use in Toast Retail in order to see the items return to your item library. Follow these steps to restore an archived item and add it back to the Toast Retail item library:

 

  1. In Toast Web, navigate to Menus > Bulk management > Items database.
  2. Find the archived items you wish to restore and select Restore to make them available to your menus (for more detailed instructions, see Use the Items Database to View and Manage Menus).
  3. Navigate to a menu editor (for example, Menus > Bulk management > Advanced properties) and select a menu group that is being used as a category in Toast Retail. Note: This step and the following steps must be done in a menu editor; they cannot be done within the Toast Retail module at this time.
  4. Scroll down to the Items section. Select the drop-down arrow next to the + Add button and then select Add Existing Items.
  5. Search for the restored items and select Done to add it back to the menu group.
  6. Save and publish your changes. The restored items will now be visible in Toast Retail again.
