Reporting Dashboard: The Weekly Overview

You can use the Toast reporting dashboard to monitor your restaurant's performance in four key areas: sales, labor, guest counts, and menu performance. 
 

To access the dashboard in Toast Web, select Reports on the navigation bar on the left-hand side of your screen. 
 

Note: To access other reports, select the > icon on the top-left of the page. 

The dashboard will display data in a weekly cadence and will refresh hourly. 
 

At the top of the report, you can select either This week or Last week from the filter drop-down. Additionally, the dashboard has the ability to compare performance metrics to the prior week, the same week last year, or the same week 2 years ago.

At the top of the page, the Key Metrics section will automatically display either week-to-date totals for each metric further displayed below (Net Sales, Labor Cost, Guest Count, Net Sales for Top Selling Items) or weekly totals, depending on your selection at the top. 

Net Sales Data on the Weekly Overview

The Net Sales section will display the total net sales week to date or for the previous week. It will also display the percent change compared to the comparison time period selected. 
 

Today's date will be highlighted in grey. You can select any of the net sales values to go to the Sales report for a detailed comparison between time periods. 

Labor Cost Data on the Weekly Overview

The Labor Cost section will display the total labor cost as a monetary amount and as a cost % of sales week to date or for the previous week. It will also display the percent change compared to the comparison time period selected. Selecting any labor cost value in this section will take you to the Labor Summary report for more details about the data.

Guest Count Data on the Weekly Overview

The Guest Count section will display the total number of guests served week to date or for the previous week. It will also display the percent change compared to the comparison time period selected. Selecting the Customers on orders value in this section will take you to the Guest Information report for more details. 
 

Note: At this time, we do not have a report that shows weekly guest counts for an entire year.

Top Selling Items Data on the Weekly Overview

The Top Selling Items section will display the top seven highest-selling items week to date or for the previous week. It will display the item name, the quantity sold for each day, the net sales for that item, and the percentage change in net sales compared to the time period selected. Selecting the net sales value in this section will take you to the Menu Breakdown report for more details.
