Can I configure blind cash out with cash in hand?

To ensure your cash is tracked accurately and securely in Toast, we recommend assigning each server to their own cash drawer for their entire shift.

The best way to enforce this is by using our Cash Drawer Lockdown feature. When enabled, this provides a "blind" count of the cash in the drawer, which is a powerful tool for reducing errors and preventing loss.

To make this work correctly, each server must use the same, dedicated terminal and cash drawer for all of their cash transactions. If a server uses multiple drawers, the system will not be able to track their drawer accurately and will consider their money as untracked "cash in hand."
