Assign a Fixed Tax Rate to a Menu Item

• How can I configure a tax amount for a menu item that requires a flat tax rate per item (Examples: water bottles, plasticware, etc.)?
• How do I assign a fixed tax rate to a menu or menu item?

To create a new fixed tax rate and assign it to an item, follow these steps:

1. Create a fixed tax rate
   1. First, you must set up a new fixed tax rate by navigating to Menus > Settings > Manage tax rates in Toast Web. If you already have one set up, you can skip this step and proceed to step 2.
   2. From the New tax rate page, configure your desired tax rate settings. For the Type setting, select Fixed.
   3. Save and publish your changes.

2. Assign a fixed tax rate to a menu item
   1. Navigate to Menus >  Bulk management > Advanced properties.
   2. Open the Show/Hide drop-down and select Applicable Taxes.
   3. Expand all menus and groups to locate your menu item. Use the drop-down under the Applicable Taxes column to select the appropriate fixed item tax rate.
   4. Save and publish your changes.
