Before you begin

Review the following before you disable declare cash tips:

  • What this does: When you disable declare cash tips, employees are no longer prompted to declare their cash tips during shift review. This applies to all tipped employees at your restaurant.
  • All-or-nothing: This setting cannot be applied selectively. Disabling it removes the cash tip declaration prompt for every employee, not just specific roles or individuals.
  • When to use this: Disable this setting if your restaurant does not require employees to declare cash tips at the end of their shifts. If you only need to exclude specific employees, consider updating their job to a non-tipped role instead.
  • Permissions: 3.12 Shift Review. You need access to Advanced Shift Review settings in Toast Web.
  • Re-enabling: To re-enable declare cash tips later, follow the steps in the Manage Cash Tips in Shift Review article.
