Add a Button on the POS

To add a new button for a menu, menu item, discount, or payment option, you’ll need to edit your settings on Toast Web.
 

• To create a button for a menu item, modifier, or menu group on your POS, navigate to Menus > Menu management > Menu manager and add your desired menu element. (see: Get Started With Menus).
  • Note: You should only add a new item if you’re positive it doesn’t exist anywhere else on your menu, otherwise you risk a cluttered menu, inaccurate reporting, and more time spent on menu maintenance. If the item already exists on your menu somewhere else, consider reusing it in your new menu by using the add existing option. Learn more here: Reuse or Copy Menu Groups, Items, and Modifiers.
  • You can also use Quick Edit mode on the POS to make certain changes to your menu items and modifiers without having to access Toast Web. Simply tap and hold on any menu button and select Enter Quick Edit. Learn more here: Use Quick Edit Mode on the POS.
• To add a custom discount button on your POS, navigate to Payments > Comps and promos > Discounts and promo codes in Toast Web and create a new discount (see: Get Started With Discounts).
