  • My gift cards aren’t working. What do I do?

Answer

There are many reasons why your gift cards might not be working as expected. 

 

  • You have not signed up for Toast Gift Cards, or they may not be properly enabled on your account. To learn more about enabling gift cards, see Get Started With Toast Gift Cards.
  • You are trying to use cards provided by your previous provider on Toast, but have not submitted a liability report. For more information, see Import Gift Cards.
  • There is an issue with the import of your liability report. To learn more, see Troubleshoot Gift Cards With No Balance.
  • If you are having trouble selling a gift card that you have imported from a previous provider, it is possible it was imported as an active card with a $0 balance, rather than an inactive card if both inactive and active cards were listed on the same file for import. To sell this card, you will need to adjust the balance. To learn more, see Check or Adjust a Gift Card Balance
  • You might not have the proper permissions. For gift cards, you will need the 3.3 Gift Card Adjustment, and 6.3 Payment Setup permissions.
