About the Toast Loyalty Reward Builder

The Reward Builder is the new way to set up rewards and promotions in Toast Loyalty. Rewards and promotions now live together on one page in Toast Web, and you build each one in a full-page, step-by-step builder. Your guests, points, and members stay right where they are.

The Reward Builder is available to restaurants whose Toast Loyalty program uses fixed (tiered) cash rewards or free item rewards. If your program still uses a progressive cashback reward, see Configure and Redeem Tiered Rewards in Toast Loyalty to learn about switching. You need the 4.8 Marketing Info permission to configure Toast Loyalty. The Toast Loyalty module is included in the Marketing Suite.

What's New

  • A full-page Reward Builder for both rewards and promotions
  • Up to five tiered rewards, each a free item, a dollar amount off, or a percentage off an item
  • Up to five promotions that replace Bonus settings and run on their own
  • A Birthday promotion that can be a free item, a dollar amount off, or a percentage off
  • Separate pages for Loyalty rewards and Loyalty settings
  • An Earning methods section where you view and change how guests earn points or visits

More tiered rewards give your guests more reasons to keep coming back.

Loyalty Overview

Your earning summary and key stats stay at the top of the Loyalty overview page. Summary cards now show your active rewards and promotions at a glance, with quick links to add more. A banner takes you straight into the Reward Builder. To open the page, navigate to Toast Web > Marketing > Loyalty.

Rewards

Rewards live on Toast Web > Marketing > Loyalty > Loyalty rewards, next to your promotions. Each reward appears as a card that shows its status. You can edit a reward by selecting Edit or the three-dot overflow menu (…).

The Reward Builder has two parts. Condition is what guests need to unlock the reward. Guests receive is what they get: a free item, a dollar amount off, or a percentage off an item. You can have up to five tiered rewards, and at least one reward must stay active.

Promotions

Promotions replace Bonus settings. You build them in the same Reward Builder as your rewards. Set a promotion once, and it runs on its own, so you do not need to come back to turn it on or off.

Choose a promotion type: Sign up, Birthday, Day & time, or Dining. Day & time promotions apply on days and times you choose, and Dining promotions apply to the dining options you choose. A Birthday promotion can be a free item, a dollar amount off, or a percentage off. You can have up to five promotions. The Promotions table shows each promotion's type, condition, what guests receive, dates, and status.

To build one, see Create Promotions in Toast Loyalty.

Loyalty Settings

Loyalty settings now hold only your general program settings: program description, sign-up method, alerts, program promotion, availability, and channels. A banner at the top points you to the Loyalty rewards page for anything that moved.

What Stays the Same

Points, members, and reward history carry over, so your guests do not lose their progress. Loyalty members and Loyalty account merging are unchanged.
