Updates Included for All Toast Customers

The following October 2026 updates are available to all Toast POS customers in the US.

Restaurant Research Hub: Shape the Products You Use Every Day

The Restaurant Research Hub is a community of restaurant professionals who preview Toast products and share hands-on feedback with the Toast Research and Development (R&D) team. Members join short conversations and feedback sessions and choose which activities to take part in.

Feedback goes directly to the teams designing and building Toast, and every session comes with a gift card as thanks. The Restaurant Research Hub is open to US-based restaurants.

Device Hub: Archive Inactive Devices

You can now archive retired or unused devices in Device Hub in Toast Web so they no longer clutter your device list. Archiving a device removes it from your default Devices view. Archiving hides the device but doesn't delete any of its data. If an archived device comes back online, it returns to your list automatically.

To archive a device, navigate to Toast Web > Device Hub, select a device with an Inactive status, select Archive, and confirm in the dialog. To see archived devices later, set the Device status filter to Archived.

Note: Only devices with an Inactive status can be archived. A device becomes Inactive after it has been offline for more than two days.

Availability: All Toast locations, rolling out starting October 6th, 2026.

Takeout and Delivery: Reset Delays at End of Business Day

The Reset delays at end of business day setting clears takeout and delivery delays automatically at closeout. When the setting is enabled, one day's delays won't carry into the next day's quote times. You can enable the setting in Toast Web or on your Toast POS.

All To-Go is a Toast Test Kitchen beta that adds one dedicated workflow for takeout, delivery, and curbside orders to the Payment Terminal on the Toast POS app.

New in October 2026, scheduled third-party delivery orders appear in All To-Go as soon as they're confirmed, instead of arriving as ASAP orders shortly before their due time. You can plan ahead for large orders and see upcoming orders on the Scheduled tab.

To get started, sign up for All To-Go through Toast Test Kitchen. Then, on the Toast POS app, open Payment Terminal, select the All To-Go view, and select the Scheduled tab to see each order's due time and channel.

Toast Tables Notify: Fill Last-Minute Openings

Notify lets guests sign up for an alert when a Toast Tables time slot is fully booked. If a matching spot opens, Toast Tables texts those guests a booking link, and the first guest to book gets the table.

Notify is built for sold-out weekends and holidays, to help you fill tables when cancellations happen. Notify is available in the US only.

Front- and Back-of-House Operations Updates

The following October 2026 updates are designed to help you run busy shifts smoothly and keep teams and guests happy.

Toast Tables: Self-Service Waitlist Stand

Self-Service Waitlist Stand is a new Toast Tables mode that lets walk-in guests add themselves to your waitlist from a tablet at your location. Guests enter their information on the tablet and join the waitlist without help from an employee.

Self-Service Waitlist Stand shortens the line at the host stand during busy periods and gives locations without a dedicated host a way to run a waitlist. Your team gets more time for seating and service. You choose whether guests see the current wait time and their place in line.

Availability: All Toast locations, rolling out starting October 5th, 2026.

Uber Eats: Track Couriers on the Toast POS

Uber Eats delivery progress now appears directly on the Payment Terminal (All Checks) on the Toast POS, so you can follow your Uber Eats delivery orders without leaving Toast. Courier tracking is available to restaurants with an Uber Eats integration and requires no additional setup.

Toast Delivery Services: View Proof of Delivery on the Toast POS

Staff can now view the proof of delivery photo for a Toast Delivery Services® order on the Toast POS app. Viewing the photo confirms that an order was delivered without leaving the Toast POS, which helps you resolve a guest's delivery dispute faster.

To view the photo, open a completed Toast Delivery Services order on the Toast POS app, select the overflow menu in the check preview, and view the photo.

Availability: US. First available in Toast POS version 2.118, rolling out starting October 15th, 2026.

Back-Office and Business Management Updates

The following October 2026 updates are designed to help you spend less time in the back office.

Offline History: See When and Why You Went Offline

The new Offline History page in Toast Web shows when your online ordering or delivery channels went offline, how long each outage lasted, and what caused it. Offline History helps you spot patterns, address issues sooner, and keep orders flowing.

Team Tab: Manage Your Team From One Place

The new Team tab in Toast Web brings your staff tools together. The central Team Overview page shows employee performance, shifts, and sales in one view, and Toast IQ surfaces insights and next steps right where you work.

House Accounts: Bulk Invoicing and Card Payments

House accounts let guests who carry an ongoing balance, like corporate clients or local businesses, charge orders now and pay later. With the Bulk Invoice tool, you can generate monthly invoices for many house accounts at once, let guests pay by credit card, and process payment across invoices with a card on file in one step.

To get started, navigate to Toast Web > Finance > Payments > House accounts. Choose a transaction range and due date, generate the invoices, and send them from the preview by email or text.

Note: You need the 4.11 House Accounts permission. House accounts aren't supported for Toast Online Ordering and aren't shared across locations or regions.

Guest Experience Updates

The following October 2026 update is designed to improve how guests interact with your business.

Toast Online Ordering: Order Location Confirmation

If you have more than one location, guests sometimes land on your online ordering page without choosing a location first, which can lead to orders placed at the wrong location. When Order Location Confirmation is enabled, guests who arrive from anywhere other than the location picker are asked to confirm their location before ordering.

To enable the setting, navigate to Toast Web > Takeout & Delivery > Branding & customization > Menu Page Configuration and enable Order Location Confirmation. The setting is disabled by default.
