Shipday provides easy-to-use software to manage local, restaurant-managed deliveries. Toast restaurants can automate dispatch, plan driver routes, track drivers in real-time, and manage guest delivery feedback.
In integrating directly with Toast, any orders placed through the restaurant's online ordering page for delivery will get automatically imported to Shipday's platform. Order information such as delivery address and guest phone number will automatically populate into Shipday from Toast.
| You will need to take the steps outlined in and set up deliveries using your own drivers in order to accept restaurant-managed deliveries. |
Restaurants need access to Toast Partner Integrations to set up the Shipday integration with Toast. This is in addition to what Shipday charges for each plan. To learn more, check out .
Before setting up the connection between Shipday and Toast, visit and set up an account.
Next, set up the connection directly in Toast Partner Integrations:
You have set up the connection between Toast and Shipday. Orders placed through your Toast Online Ordering page for delivery will now flow directly into Shipday for delivery management.
You can add drivers from the Drivers tab in Shipday. Drivers need to download the driver app named Shipday Drive from the App store. They will also need to be added as employees into Toast.
Future orders in the Shipday system are called Scheduled orders.
Scheduled orders are any order that has to be delivered in more than X hours from now. X is a parameter and can be set in the Shipday settings page under Dispatch Time Window setting.
For example, let's say it is Tuesday 11am right now and you have your dispatch time window set as 48 hours. Your restaurant receives the following order:
Order 1 with delivery date Tuesday 6 p.m.
Order 2 with delivery date Thursday 6 p.m.
Order 1 will go to the Current orders tab and Order 2 will go to the Scheduled orders tab. As time passes and the delivery date for Order 2 falls within 48 hours that order too will appear in the Current orders tab.
The following steps outline the order flow from Toast to Shipday:
Managing deliveries and dispatching drivers should be done through Shipday. On the POS, you will be able to see the status of deliveries transition from Unassigned to En Route to Delivered on the Delivery mode screen on your POS as the status changes in Shipday, but delivery and driver management are done in Shipday.
Yes. It's an important step so Toast can identify whether the delivery order placed through the Online Ordering page is within your restaurant's delivery range or area. See in Support Center for more information on how to do this.
Shipday can handle groups with multiple locations as long as the driver is returning to the point of origin or the restaurant that driver left from.
Tips are handled based on how your delivery charges are set up. Typically, most restaurants use third-party delivery services through Shipday. In those cases, tips are not assigned directly to the driver — instead, they are allocated to the restaurant, which then reimburses Shipday accordingly.
When using in-house drivers, if your gratuity setting is toggled on (set to Yes) within your Service Charges, Shipday will send the order completion update to Toast as soon as the driver marks the order as completed in Shipday. At that point, the tip should be allocated to the driver in Toast where you track these orders.
