  • How do I switch from Chowly/Checkmate to DoorDash, Grubhub, and/or Uber Eats direct integration?
  • How can I switch from my ordering platform (like Chowly or Checkmate) without disrupting my service?
  • What are the steps for a smooth transition when switching from a service like Chowly or Checkmate?

Answer

When changing Partners, it’s important that orders flowing into the POS remain uninterrupted.

Follow the steps below for a seamless transition when switching away from using an Online Ordering Aggregator such as Chowly or Checkmate.

  1. Add the direct integration(s) you are switching to. DoorDash, Grubhub, and Uber Eats Direct Integrations are added from the Toast Shop
    1. Note: DO NOT remove the Partner currently pushing orders to the POS. In order for this to be a seamless transition, this Partner must stay on the account until the new integration Partner(s) setup is completed.
  2. Complete the setup process for the new Partner(s) by following the steps in the articles below:
    1. DoorDash Getting Started
    2. Grubhub Getting Started
    3. Uber Eats Getting Started
  3. Contact the Partner (DoorDash, Grubhub, or Uber Eats) once the integration has been completed and activated. Ensure that the Partner has your account set to send orders to POS Direct. This will allow the orders to flow into Toast instead of through the Aggregator.
  4. Verify you are receiving orders properly. If you are unsure if the orders have switched over to the Direct integration(s), reach out to Toast  Customer Support for assistance.
    1. Once verified, remove the Online Ordering Aggregator from your account and notify the Partner that you are no longer using their service.

Note: If you are using the Aggregator to connect a service outside of DoorDash, Grubhub, and Uber Eats, you may need to keep their service to maintain the connection.
